There were rumors that they're ditching the 21:9 aspect ratio and going 2k instead of 4k.
And that ain't 21:9, I can confirm. So there's a great chance that it'll be 2k resolution will be as well.

@@jdroleplay There's no human eye that can really perceive the benefit of 4K on a phone screen over 2K.
I think if it will become 2k We will benefit from better battery life, and the clarity will not be less. It is a phone, not a TV, I think 2k Very enough Let us not forget that the brightness will be higher and Sony will use the latest BRAVIA technology, so it will be very advanced. Let us wait and see what will happen.

All theres new phone has been and are dust and waterproof. They was some of the first ones on the market for that features.

You probably meant water resistance.
There is no waterproofing in mobile phones world unless you put it in the sealed waterproof bag.
Sony Xperia was indeed the first mobile brand to offer water resistance with IP certificates in a mainstream phone, but the problem was they had commercials portraying people swimming in a pool and taking pictures with phone submerged under water which was wrong and can't be done because it's not waterproofed it's just a water resistance.
Xperia got sued for it 10 years ago. And they weren't the only phone brand who tried that. They all changed their way of advertising water resistance by simply putting water drops on phone front and back, but somehow people's perception about IP certificates and water "waterproofness" still didn't change. There is still a LOT of people thinking phones with IP 6x certificates are waterproof and then they intentionally go into water with phone and wondering why the warranty doesn't cover up the damage caused by water breach into a phone.
Even worse, some go swim in salt sea with it.

I wish Sony offered more than 2 years of software updates.. Otherwise great phones, I'd get one purely for the lack of hole punch display and the headphone jack.

Before 2017, Xperia was considered the best-looking phone in the world. Now, it is considered one of the least attractive due to its poor screen-to-body ratio. If Sony doesn't want to reduce the screen size, they could consider removing the front camera, which I don't need.

This looks interesting. It seems that the new Xperias will share the new Mini LED displaya Sony developed for the 2024 Bravia TV range. Very interesting indeed. We are seeing real collaboration here between the Sony divisions....
But oled is all in all better than mini led i hope they have oled display
@@Haris-XIII you are stating an opinion. You mean you like OLED. That does not make it better. You understand that mini led has advantages such as brightness? Also, you clearly have no idea about the new Bravia TVs and the new processing technology Sony developed which gets mini LED close to OLED in terms of colours and blacks while being much brighter than OLED can achieve, and less costly to produce. As well as it being linked to Sonys new mastering monitor that is used by all Hollywood productions. You do know Sony is also a movie studio? And they are moving to remaster their content in higher brightness to match their new mastering monitor. And OLED simply can't reach the 4000 nits that it requires. So it seems that Sony is matching Xperia phones with the Bravia TVs for all those reasons.

@Sabundy Mini-LED? There is no phone with mini-LED display yet. Why? Because it's really really expensive to make.
How much would Xperia 1 cost with that technology? 2000€? 2500€? They are overpriced even now with all the standardized specifications.
Mini-LED is not ready for that kind of mass production for small mobile displays. TV's are first in line to get Mini-LED, then monitors and tablets and then phones and watches.

Please fix the usb port issue. On my Xperia 1V The USB port stopped working because it always said there is moisture detected. This happend because you are holding your phone in your hand, and guess what, there is sewat on your fingers. After holding it 3 month, the error was not removable. I cpuld rarely charge my 1300€ phone.... Please just don't install stupid sensors in there! ほんとうにありがとうございます。
It happened to my 1 V last year when it was new, I just use a toothpick slightly tickle the port, have something dropped out then it never happen again
